A letter on Beauty:

Our fascination with beauty runs from superficial levels to the deepest, most intimate depths of your soul. Sure, our society looks at these models, we all cohesively dictate, or are dictated to deem a certain kind of look as universal attractiveness. But there’s all that is - attraction. But, but humanity, and existence, is so much more than attraction. If one were to exist, with a sole purpose to attract, then what good is such existence, if one possessed all the power in the universe to: inspire, to commit to a purpose much greater than one is, to change, to move the hearts of strangers, to leave a permanent nudge in this world we call a temporary home for our souls.

Who cages us? Society? Or our minds? It’s all but too easy to put the weight of our insecurities on the media, on models, on the men. Demonize them, criticize them, boycott them. But soon, all too soon, you’d realize - that the hatred you have for the way you look at present.. has nothing to do with the external world. The uneasiness you have, for your physical appearance, stems from an inner fear of inadequacy.

We have all these messages on beauty - You’re beautiful just the way you are. They’re fleeting, pessimistic to say the least. You hear them, it comforts you, it warms you, it leaves you.

What’s stopping you from feeling all the beauty that you are?

You are unconventional, you are.. precious.
You are a treasure trove of an infinite permutations of love, fears, hopes, wishes.
Stories, disappointments, nightmares, bitterness, You, are one of a kind.

And while trying to look better physically does amazing things to your libido, and your confidence - try not to get caught up in losing yourself through the process. As you go along this process, if you find yourself looking at your past shadows in disgust, present reflections in disdain, with fervent impatience for who you desire to become - hold yourself and stop yourself short, no.

No.

No, beautiful.

People may cast judgements of who you were, who you are, and who you may be.
But you must not.

For you, you are beautiful, in all of your ways, in all of your being.

Never change, never change that. And never let anyone, tell you otherwise.

Never lose yourself today, for who you wish to become tomorrow.
Tomorrow may never arrive, but today.. today’s a chance to ravel in all that beauty that you are.
