Feeling beautiful means eliminating the toxicity in your life
It’s the age of discontentment, disenchantment, dissatisfaction. Unhappiness with the status quo meets reluctance, inertia and apathy to change situations. Progress is expected with your government, your society - but we forget that we maketh society.
You are what you see, read, hear, speak:
Complaints, Whines, Bitchings: It’s on your facebook wall, it’s on your twitter feed, it’s on your tumblr feed. About our bodies, our (lack of/way too thin) paycheck, that (boring) professor, weather’s too warm, weather’s too cold, why can’t we look good like (insert name here), why doesn’t anyone love usssssss……..
To me, that’s toxicity at it’s best. YOU, are the product of the company that you choose. And while it’s amazingly convenient and cathartic to join the whine-gang, it’s also one of the marks of ‘ugly’ people.
A) If you’re lamenting about something you CAN’T change, let out a big sigh, have a macaroon (or two), then move on, adapt and live.
B) If you’re lamenting about something you CAN change… (this is much simpler…) take the necessary actions to change your status quo.
Feel beautiful:
Surround yourself with positive people &.. filter the media/content/conversation you consume to the empowering sorts.
I unfollow ‘the dark and black holes’ on my social media feeds - aka people who consistently hate on themselves, and every other thing that moves/don’t move.
I don’t mean constant happy, chirpy, god-you-want-to-slap-her my-life-is-so-perfect. I mean, being positive, optimistic, and compassionate. :)
My BIGGEST inspiration, is His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. I am only as beautiful as the empathy, and the lessons of kindness he has bestowed on me.
When you eliminate toxicity from your life, you’re taking an ACTIVE stance to re-modeling the way you SEE the world, and most importantly? The way you SEE yourself.
You ARE beautiful. Don’t you dare forget that.
