Hi sweetie, I hope you don’t mind that I decided to use this ask as a public reply, because I think alot of angels out there can use a little advice regarding this. Just because I’m sure everyone of us out there has GOTTA have had a bad day/week of eating/training etc.
But BEFORE you get back on track, which usually is just a relentless realization that failure is an EVENT and NOT YOU….. let’s make use of the little success bump and see what we can actually learn from it.
Bad weeks and bad days don’t JUST happen. They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again…. while expecting the same results. Bad days are fine, but we need to understand what causes them, and how we can best mitigate them, and prevent them from happening again.
1. Think about why you had your little event of ‘failure’
It could be…
- A particular special occasion: Christmas, thanksgiving, valentine’s day… (oh god the chocolates)
- Stress at work/school
- Lack of sleep —> Lack of energy —> Crazy cravings
- Time of the month? —> Crazy-ass hormones —> Eat everything in sight
- Something bad happened —> Emotional/Comfort eating
- Just PURE BOREDOM
2. Write 3 actions you will do if such a situation arises again
Take for example, if you’re really stressed out at work/school. And you take out your stress on eating comfort foods to make yourself feel better. What you’re doing.. is eating for your mind, not for your body. This may look like the 3 actions you may take to rejuvenate such a behavior….
- I will call up someone I love and give them a compliment or tell them I love them
- I will read a few pages of the latest new book I just bought to get lost in another world, even just for a while
- I will take a short little walk, no handphones allowed. Just me, myself and clearing my mind.

So the main lesson here is that:
There is absolutely NO one perfect plan to help people get back on track. :) You are YOU. Perfectly special and unique. <3
Take some time to figure out who you are, and why you do the things you do. You deserve that little time…
All the best darling. and MOST importantly…
Don’t look back. Unless, that’s where you intend on going. Keep moving forward. Sure, you slip up, we ALL do. But keep trudging forward. Baby steps, little steps. Celebrate the small progresses, not perfection - but progression. You.. are you. Special, and beautiful. If just being a better you than yesterday is not enough… Losing 30lbs won’t bring you a bigger smile than you have on now. You’re beautiful. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
