Opinions vs Judgements.

Who are we to pass on statements based on our values and experiences unto others when we do not know their story? Who are we to say things like ‘she looks so thin and sickly now, I feel sad for her’, like we know what she’s going through?

Go on, refute your case by your defense of: “that’s MY opinion, and I don’t give a sparrow about what everyone thinks”. Well, there’s nothing morally wrong in doing so. Yet, I question the moral value in doing the very same thing.

That moment when you pass a statement like “Oh my god, I’m worried for her…” adds nothing of value to the world but the brief moment of psychological comfort on your part.

You put yourself on a pedestal like you think you know better. But as knowledgeable we (think we) are - our knowledge will always stop short of what we know about another person’s story.

More importantly, why remain passive if you are able to DO something about it. Go comfort someone, help someone, listen someone out. Don’t just sit at a corner, and mimic a sigh, wishing people would know better.

In the scenario where you aren’t able to do anything about it. Save the laments, and judgements on others.

Instead, have opinions on topics like Ethics, Love, Compassion, Justice, Empathy.. These (and more) are the things that are worth your attention and the delicate crafting of your personal stance and how you feel and think.

Being beautiful, my angels, starts from the realization of such.
